Champlain Mariners Claims Win In Thrilling Showdown Against Browns River Diamondbacks

Champlain Mariners snatched the lead late in their 6-5 victory over Browns River Diamondbacks on Saturday. The game was tied at five in the top of the seventh when Broullette doubled, scoring one run.

Browns River Diamondbacks opened the scoring in the bottom of the second thanks to two singles. Browns River Diamondbacks first got on the board when Mitchell Jr. singled, scoring one run.

A single by Parker extended the Browns River Diamondbacks lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

Champlain Mariners jumped into the lead in the top of the fifth when Fragola grounded out, scoring one run, and Elderton homered to right field, scoring three runs.

A line out by Parker gave Browns River Diamondbacks the lead, 5-4, in the bottom of the fifth.

Champlain Mariners jumped back into the lead in the top of the seventh inning after Bushey homered to center field, and Broullette doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Callahan earned the win for Champlain Mariners. The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and five runs over six innings, striking out five and walking three. Hauser took the loss for Browns River Diamondbacks. The righty went one inning, surrendering two runs on two hits, striking out none and walking two. Tringe led things off on the bump for Browns River Diamondbacks. The hurler allowed two hits and two runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking four. Poland collected the save.

Elderton provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Champlain Mariners with three runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Broullette went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Champlain Mariners in hits. Mazza-Bergeron paced Champlain Mariners with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Champlain Mariners didn't commit a single error in the field. Tanis had the most chances in the field with seven.

Parker drove the middle of the lineup, leading Browns River Diamondbacks with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Steinman, Hauser, and Parker each collected two hits for Browns River Diamondbacks.
