Williston Wolfpack at Champlain Mariners

Champlain Mariners easily dispatched Williston Wolfpack on Sunday at Williston Schools, 14-4.

Champlain Mariners were the first to get on the board in the first when Elderton singled, scoring one run.

A fielder's choice by Darling gave Williston Wolfpack the lead, 2-1, in the top of the second.

Champlain Mariners made the score 5-2 in the bottom of the second after Bushey doubled, scoring two runs, Bushey singled, scoring one run, and Mazza-Bergeron drew a walk, scoring one run.

Goodenough homered to left field, scoring two runs in the top of the third for the Williston Wolfpack.

Champlain Mariners extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Tanguay and Bushey.

Champlain Mariners scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Willoughby singled, scoring one run, Quinn singled, scoring two runs, and Bushey singled, scoring two runs.

Richburg earned the win for Champlain Mariners. The starter allowed seven hits and four runs over four innings, striking out none and walking four. Darling took the loss for Williston Wolfpack. The hurler went two innings, surrendering five runs (zero earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking four. Quinn threw one inning of scoreless ball for Champlain Mariners in relief. The pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out one and walking none.
