Champlain Mariners Defeat Franklin County Bandits

Champlain Mariners topped Franklin County Bandits 10-5 on Saturday at Champlain Valley Union High School.

Champlain Mariners got on the board in the top of the first inning after Elderton singled down the right field line, Mazza-Bergeron grounded out, and Willoughby singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Champlain Mariners added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Goodrich hit a sacrifice fly, Tanguay walked, and Franklin County Bandits committed an error, each scoring one run.

Richburg earned the win for Champlain Mariners. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and four runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking two. Yates took the loss for Franklin County Bandits. The starter went seven innings, giving up 10 runs (eight earned) on 12 hits, striking out three and walking three. Quinn appeared in relief for Champlain Mariners.
