Burlington Brewers at Champlain Mariners

Poland drove in four runs on two hits to lead Champlain Mariners past Burlington Brewers 11-2 on Tuesday at 369 C V U Rd, Hinesburg, VT 05461. Poland doubled in the third inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the fourth inning, scoring one.

Mikell struck out 10 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also surrendered three hits and zero runs over five innings while walking one.

Champlain Mariners opened the scoring in the bottom of the third thanks to two doubles. Champlain Mariners first got on the board when Poland doubled, scoring three runs.

Talbert led things off on the bump for Burlington Brewers. The starter gave up eight hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out four and walking six. Richburg appeared in relief for Champlain Mariners.

Champlain Mariners piled up nine hits in the game. Bushey, Mikell, and Poland each collected two hits for Champlain Mariners. Tanguay paced Champlain Mariners with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying 10 walks for the game.

Boldwin and Cioffi each drove in one run for Burlington Brewers. Wood-Lewis went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Burlington Brewers in hits.
