Champlain Mariners Defeat Browns River Diamondbacks Behind Strong Performance From Callahan

Callahan was dominant on the mound, as the starter rang up 10 strikeouts in Champlain Mariners's 5-4 victory over Browns River Diamondbacks on Sunday. Callahan gave up five hits and four runs over five innings while walking three.

Champlain Mariners came back to win despite trailing 4-0 in the first.

Browns River Diamondbacks jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Steinman singled, scoring two runs, Parker singled, scoring one run, and Callahan induced Kohlasch to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Champlain Mariners took the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after Broullette hit a sacrifice fly, and Poland singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Donahue took the loss for Browns River Diamondbacks. The starter went four innings, giving up five runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out five and walking one. Poland collected the save.

Broullette drove the middle of the lineup, leading Champlain Mariners with three runs batted in. Bushey, Poland, Willoughby, and Mazza-Bergeron each collected one hit for Champlain Mariners.
