Champlain Mariners Take Lead And Never Look Back In Win Over Burlington Brewers

Champlain Mariners easily dispatched Burlington Brewers on Saturday, 11-4.

Burlington Brewers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Champlain Mariners committed an error, and Detoma singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Champlain Mariners tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a single by Mazza-Bergeron, and a walk by Fragola.

Champlain Mariners took the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Tanguay grounded out, Poland doubled down the right field line, Broullette singled down the left field line, and Fragola singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Champlain Mariners scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth on a home run to right field by Broullette.

Goodrich earned the win for Champlain Mariners. The right-handed pitcher surrendered eight hits and four runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. Rubin took the loss for Burlington Brewers. The hurler went two innings, allowing six runs on six hits, striking out one and walking five.
