Champlain Mariners at Vermont Black Sox

Vermont Black Sox were victorious against Champlain Mariners 6-4 on Sunday.

A double by Luter III put Vermont Black Sox on the board in the bottom of the first.

Bushey doubled down the right field line, which helped Champlain Mariners tie the game at two in the top of the fourth.

Vermont Black Sox took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Blood hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, to give Vermont Black Sox the advantage, 3-2.

Champlain Mariners jumped back into the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Poland grounded out, and Callahan walked, each scoring one run.

Vermont Black Sox took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Pattison homered to left field, scoring two runs, to give Vermont Black Sox the upper hand, 5-4.

Dennis hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the sixth for the Vermont Black Sox.

Luter III stepped on the bump first for Vermont Black Sox. The pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs over four innings, striking out five and walking four. Goodrich opened the game for Champlain Mariners. The starter gave up seven hits and six runs over five and one-third innings, striking out six and walking one. Clark appeared in relief for Vermont Black Sox.

Dennis and Pattison each collected two hits for Vermont Black Sox. Pattison and Luter III each drove in two runs for Vermont Black Sox. Vermont Black Sox turned two double plays in the game.

Mazza-Bergeron led Champlain Mariners with two hits in four at bats. Poland and Bushey each drove in one run for Champlain Mariners. Tanguay paced Champlain Mariners with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Tanguay stole two bases. Champlain Mariners were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Tanguay made the most plays with eight.
